Harnessing the Power of Virtual Reality to Get the Most Out of Your CT Data
Published Wednesday November 17, 2021
Put on a virtual reality headset and you’ll be able to literally ‘walk through’ a computed tomography (CT) scan of a product. You’ll see each dissected layer with full color resolution and be able to manipulate the scan in any direction. This isn’t a future-world video game, but rather a new technology that enables high-fidelity visualization of product scans.
Kinetic Vision will present real working examples of this technology at the ASNT webinar series this Friday, November 19th at 1:00 pm EST. Registration is still open and available at www.asnt.org. Session information may be found here.
The webinar, hosted by ASNT (the American Society for Nondestructive Testing), will showcase the unique benefits of visualizing complex CT data sets using virtual reality (VR) and how the technology can be used to connect key stakeholders and review scan data – even if located in disparate parts of the globe.
Gregory Bell, Team Lead for the Metrology + Inspection group at Kinetic Vision, will be giving the presentation and showing the benefits of Dynamic 4D scanning and use cases with the virtual reality tool. Greg’s professional background is based in Industrial CT scanning with a specialization in dimensional metrology, nondestructive evaluation, 4D scanning, and acquisition technique optimization.
